The jet-lagged JD Systems team will be “shaking the glitter off” (to quote California Girl Katy Perry) after heading back from InfoComm 2012 at the Las Vegas Convention Center and heading home to the beach this weekend, June 16 and 17, to celebrate Staten Island’s Back to the Beach event.

Although the timing could be better as we settle in for InfoComm follow-ups, this is one event we look forward to every year and will not miss!

Repping our amazing DirecTV set-up, we’ll have a satellite dish right on the beach and HDTVs for viewing. We’ll be talking to Staten Island’s sports, movie and TV fans and will find some creative ways to stir up some fun in the sun.

About Back to the Beach
This is the 17th year of Staten Island’s beachfront gathering, held at Midland Beach, Sea Turtle Circle. In addition to the usual games, vendors, food, and a huge assortment of bouncy houses for the kids, this year’s event brings volleyball to the beach. The Staten Island Advance and the Dugout are hosting free volleyball matches from noon to five p.m. for the 18-and-up crowd. Can’t spike? No worries. People of all skill levels are welcome to join in the fun, says SI Live. http://www.silive.com/news/index.ssf/2012/06/time_for_staten_island_to_get.html

Have Other Plans?
We know, we know. It’s Father’s Day weekend and Dad may have some other plans (like hanging out in his home theater to watch the game or a movie.) If you can’t make it Back to the Beach (and JD Systems) returns on August 18 – 19.

If you come by this weekend or in August, make sure to look for our booth and come say hello.
