LG Electronics was the first to enter the commercial HDTV market with a passive 3D HDTV in the LD950C. At CES 2011 in Las Vegas they announced that they’ve transferred that same technology to consumers.

The new LG LW6500 home cinema LED TV boasts flicker-free 3D HDTV viewing without expensive active shutter glasses. The system uses the inexpensive, disposable blue-and-red glasses like you get at movie theaters. LG’s TruMotion 240Hz technology minimizes blurring so you can enjoy your favorite sports and action movies in the very best quality.

The 1080p HDTV uses LG’s LED Plus technology for deeper blacks and richer colors, and is equipped with Smart TV for surfing the Web, streaming audio and video, and more. It’s WiFi Ready so it runs on your home’s existing wireless network.

This sleek screen is available in sizes up to 65 inches.

3D for Your Home Cinema, The Way It Should Be

3DTV took a while to catch on, in part because of the bulky, expensive, and easily breakable active shutter glasses required for most systems. We’re not exaggerating when we say that LG’s LW6500 may be the most revolutionary offering to come out of CES 2011.
